A couple of weeks ago we had one of our regular customers in, he’d just purchased a new car and was selling on his old one, a little diesel peugeot 106.

As it only had 6 weeks left to run on the mot he asked us to give it a check over to look for any problems that might need rectification in a couple of weeks. As he was a regular customer we gave it a thorough pre mot check, no problems noted except a minor oil leak in the engine bay.

The new owner then presents the vehicle for a Mot this week, obviously expecting a pass unfortunately this was not the case. The young lady was not very happy !

Somehow in the last 14 days one of the tyres had been severely flat spotted.

flatspotted tyre The only way I know to flat spot a tyre this severely is by trying handbrake turns, on mentioning this to the young lady it appears her partner had roadtested it after she’d bought it. She did go on to say words would be exchanged later in the day !
